MYOwn Red Clay Mask

Using your mask at home

Ingredients:

  • Red clay powder

  • Water or other liquid of your choice (such as rosewater, aloe vera juice, or honey)

  • Mixing bowl

  • Measuring spoon

  • Spoon for mixing

  • Optional: essential oils, apple cider vinegar, or other add-ins of your choice

Instructions:

  • Measure out 1-2 tablespoons of red clay powder into your mixing bowl.

  • Slowly add water or other liquid of your choice to the bowl, stirring constantly, until the mixture becomes a smooth paste. Aim for a consistency that is thick but spreadable.

  • If desired, add a few drops of your chosen essential oil or a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar and mix well.

  • Your red clay mask is now ready to use! Apply it to your face, avoiding the eye and mouth area. Leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes or until it begins to dry.

  • To remove the mask, gently wash your face with warm water and a washcloth. Follow up with your favorite moisturizer to keep your skin soft and hydrated.

Tips:

  • Red clay is known for its detoxifying properties, making it a great choice for those with oily or acne-prone skin.

  • Using a liquid other than water can help to enhance the benefits of your mask. For example, rosewater can help to soothe and hydrate the skin, while aloe vera juice can provide additional anti-inflammatory benefits.

  • Apple cider vinegar can help to balance the skin's pH and reduce acne-causing bacteria, but be sure to dilute it with water before using it in your mask.

  • You can experiment with different essential oils to customize your mask to your skin's needs. For example, tea tree oil can help to fight acne, while lavender oil can provide a calming effect.
